Northside Pet Services has cared for Indianapolis pets since owner Sherri Campbell first launched her pet sitting company in the early 1990s, relaunching full-time service on the city's north side in 2009. A Registered Veterinary Nurse with a master's degree in educational administration and nearly 45 years of animal care experience, Sherri has managed a Humane Society, worked in clinical veterinary medicine, and taught and researched in the animal labs of two medical schools — a background that shapes how every pet in her care is handled.

The company deliberately positions itself as an alternative to traditional kennels. Rather than a facility, care happens in the client's own home or, for boarding, inside a sitter's home where only one or two dogs (or multiple dogs from the same family) stay at a time. Sitters are personally trained by Sherri, and the small staff stays consistent so clients and their pets see familiar faces — some families are now on their third generation of pets with NPS.

Services

• In-home pet sitting with 3–4 daily visits for dogs, plus free home care such as plant watering, mail collection, light rotation and security system use
• Dog boarding in a sitter's home, limited to 1–2 dogs at a time on a first-come, first-served basis
• Small-group daycare and socialization using outdoor space and a doggy swimming pool, offered irregularly around home-based schedules
• Post-op, hospice and medical care, including insulin administration for diabetic, geriatric and chronically ill pets
• Move-in care, where a sitter stays overnight in the client's home, plus dog walking, pet transportation and behavioral consults

NPS is fully insured, provides free in-home meet-and-greet consultations, and its sitters carry references. The team is especially experienced with puppies, geriatric animals and special needs pets — including those that are blind, deaf, diabetic, paralyzed, in surgical recovery or in hospice. Sherri also splits time seasonally with South Naples, Florida, where the company began offering pet services in the fall of 2022.
