North Star Pet Resort

North Star Pet Resort is the boarding, grooming, and doggy daycare arm of North Star Animal Hospital, a locally-owned animal hospital that has served Palmer, Alaska and the Mat-Su Valley since 2006. Located about a mile from the hospital, the resort gives pet owners peace of mind knowing their dog's stay is supported by an experienced veterinary team nearby.

Every guest, whether enrolled in play groups or not, receives one-on-one attention from resort attendants who learn each pet's preferences and offer activities like massage, cuddles, story time, ball play, and outdoor time.

Prospective guests must be at least four months old, current on vaccinations (distemper, parvo, and bordetella, which the resort can administer), and free of contagious symptoms such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, internal or external parasites, or aggression toward staff. Owners are asked to bring their own food, treats, and medications for the length of the stay plus two extra days, along with any comforting toys, blankets, or bedding.

Reservations are required for all services, and the resort recommends booking at least a month ahead — two to three months for holiday stays. First-time boarders are encouraged to schedule a trial day before committing to a longer stay.
