Midwest Dog Center provides dog boarding, daycare, grooming, and obedience training in Andale, KS. The campus is at 3315 N. 247th Street West, and dogs staying overnight are housed in private, climate-controlled suites.

What stands out

Each boarding suite has a Kuranda bed, the raised cot-style bed that keeps a dog up off the floor and is easy to sanitize between guests. The fenced play yard is surfaced with artificial turf, which drains faster and gets less muddy than grass. Climate control runs through the building, which matters across a Kansas summer and the cold stretches on either side of it.

Training is a substantial part of what the center does. Group classes run at three levels, so an owner can board a young dog and work on obedience with the same staff who look after it the rest of the day. Daycare, grooming, and boarding all happen on one campus, so a dog's routine stays in one set of hands.

Practical details

Boarding rates run from $28 to $75 per day. Reservations are made online, and every dog on the property must be current on vaccinations. Weekday hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday is a narrow window, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and Sunday runs 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM only, so weekend drop-offs and pickups need to be planned around those times.
