Karen's K9 Obedience

Karen's K9 Obedience is an in-home dog boarding, daycare and obedience training business at 609 Ingalls Avenue in Pascagoula, MS. Boarding dogs stay inside a private family residence instead of a kennel run. The business brings over 25 years of dog-handling experience to the MS Gulf Coast.

Where do dogs stay during boarding?

Dogs board cage-free in the family's home. The house has a privately fenced yard and doggie doors on both sides, so dogs can move between indoors and outdoors with their playmates. Owners get photo and video updates while they are away, which makes it easier to see how a dog is settling in.

What services are offered?

• In-home, cage-free boarding
• Doggie daycare with indoor play
• Obedience training built on positive reinforcement
• A fully fenced acre of outdoor green space
• Socialization with other dogs

What sets it apart from a typical kennel?

Training shapes the whole operation. The business describes its approach as kind, clear and reward-based, with the aim of setting dogs up to make good choices and then rewarding them. For a dog that pulls on the leash or gets wound up around house guests, a stay that mixes play with some structure can be a good fit.

Daycare is built around group play. Dogs can run in the yard, chew a favorite toy, play ball or simply lounge with people nearby. The idea, as the site puts it, is a dog that comes home happy, relaxed and tired.
