Dogtown

Dogtown is an all-indoor dog boarding and daycare resort in Jacksonville, Florida, serving the Mandarin area, with grooming and veterinary care on the same property. The building covers more than 30,000 square feet, all of it climate controlled, so the weather outside never changes what a dog's day looks like.

What a stay includes

Boarding dogs sleep on beds with blankets and spend their days in indoor play areas. Playgroups are built around temperament, age, size, and activity level, so a quiet older dog is not matched with a young shepherd who wants to wrestle. An indoor pool is part of the space. Maid service is included with a stay, and dogs who need medication can have it administered by staff. Daycare is offered on its own for dogs who need somewhere to go during the workday.

What sets it apart

St. Bernard's Animal Hospital operates inside the building, which is useful for senior dogs or dogs with medical conditions that need watching. Earth Pets Natural Market is on site as well. Because everything happens indoors, heat and rain stay out of the equation for play and exercise. Staff are members of Dog Gurus and the International Boarding and Pet Services Association, two pet-care industry organizations.

Hours, booking, and pickup

Dogtown is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. After-hours pickup can be arranged by appointment. Reservations are made online at dogtownresorts.com, and the facility can be reached at 904-719-6138.
