Custom Paws Pet Resort & Spa runs cage-free dog boarding, daycare and grooming out of 4408 Old LaGrange Rd in Buckner, KY. Dogs sleep in private bedrooms instead of kennels, in one of three room types: Bungalows, Cottages and Villas. Nightly rates run from $45 to $65, and every size is accepted, from small breeds through giant ones.

What a stay includes

Every dog gets unlimited private play and one-on-one attention through the stay. Nine themed play areas are designed to lower stress and keep noise down, and a seasonal Splash Park adds agility courses and tunnels.

Staff send photos and videos by email, text or through the app, so owners aren't left guessing at how the day went. A pet concierge oversees daily routines, and vet care is on call 24/7. Treats from the Mini Bar include doggy ice cream, frozen Kongs and snuffle mats.

Who it's set up for

The resort works with special needs dogs, anxious dogs and aggressive breeds alongside everyday boarders. Because the sleeping rooms are private, dogs aren't bunking with strangers overnight. Staff carry Fear Free, AKC Safe and Pet CPR certifications.
