Brook Run Dog Retreat

Brook Run Dog Retreat is a home-based business offering dog boarding, daycare and training at 60 Beaver Brook Farm Road in Bolton, Vermont. Overnight guests stay in a home setting, not a kennel building, and daytime programs run in a small pack. Owners in the Bolton area who want their dog to get plenty of outdoor time and enrichment may find it worth a look.

What services does Brook Run offer?

The retreat pairs boarding with structured programs for dogs of different ages. Its main services are:

• Overnight in-home boarding
• Dog Day School, a small-pack daycare program
• Puppy Pre-K classes
• Dog training
• Private hikes on the property's own trails

How is it different from a typical kennel?

Brook Run describes itself as a calm, home-based retreat rather than a warehouse-style facility. Its programs focus on a dog's emotional well-being, with the goal of helping dogs build calm and confidence in a small group. The language on its site is warm and personal, and boarding is pitched as care inside a home.

The grounds are a big part of the appeal. Dogs have access to fenced yards, sensory gardens, an agility field, a private dog park and a private dog pool. Owners can also book hikes on the retreat's private trails, which suits active dogs who like room to roam.

What should owners know before booking?

Booking is handled online through the Brook Run Dog Retreat website. For questions, the retreat can be reached by email at brookrundogretreat@gmail.com or by phone at (802) 881-5151. It also posts updates on Facebook and Instagram under the name brookrundogcamp, which is a good way to see the property and the dogs in its care before reaching out.
