Broadmore Pet Retreat

Broadmore Pet Retreat offers dog boarding, daycare, and grooming in Shawnee, KS, from its property at 20560 W 47th Street. Dogs sleep in private suites furnished with raised Kuranda beds, and the buildings are climate-controlled. Large and small breeds are housed separately: B1 is the large-breed building, and B2 is set up for small dogs.

How dogs spend the day

Playgroups are sorted by size, temperament, age, and energy level, and no group runs larger than 10 dogs. Owners who would rather skip group play can ask about one-on-one time instead. That includes Sniffari hikes on the trail and individual Fetch sessions. The separate BK2 building is dedicated to special-needs and geriatric dogs, which gives older or more fragile guests a quieter place to rest.

There is outdoor space on site, so dogs are not confined to the buildings for the length of a stay. Grooming is handled in house, and dogs booked for four nights or more head home after an exit bath.

Practical details

The kennel is open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to noon on Saturday, and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. Reservations are made online. Proof of vaccination is required before a dog stays. Both small and large dogs are accepted, each in their own building.
