Blue Sky Farms, Home of K9 Country Inn

Blue Sky Farms, Home of K9 Country Inn is a farm-style kennel at 1143 Long Ridge Rd in Chesapeake, VA, offering overnight boarding, daycare, grooming, and training. For owners comparing dog boarding in Chesapeake, its country setting is the main draw, with wooded walking trails and a canopied meadow on the property. Dogs of every size are accepted, from small breeds up to giant ones.

What services does the farm offer?

Boarding is the core service, and the kennel also runs a daycare program for dogs who need a full day of play. Grooming and training are available on site, so one drop-off can cover more than one errand.

• Overnight boarding in private, temperature-controlled dog runs
• Doggie daycare with supervised playgroups
• Grooming and training
• Medication administration and special diet accommodation
• 10% discount for military and first responders

What is a stay like for a boarded dog?

The outdoor play yards include a splash pool, tunnels, a sandbox, and tetherball. Playgroups are separated by size and temperament, so dogs play alongside others who are a similar match. Each dog also has a private, climate-controlled run to rest in between play sessions.

The kennel describes its approach as treating every guest like part of the family. That shows up in small touches, like the bedtime cookie and a kiss included with every stay.

What should owners know before booking?

Boarding runs from $30 to $55 per night, according to the kennel's website. Reservations are made by phone at 757-204-7574, and vaccinations are required before a stay. Owners whose dogs eat a special diet or take medication can arrange that care with staff when they call.
