Birmingham Animal Hospital + Resort

Birmingham Animal Hospital + Resort is a veterinary hospital and pet resort at 2316 1st Ave South in Birmingham, AL, offering dog boarding, daycare, and grooming in the same facility. Because the resort shares space with a full-service vet clinic, it's a natural fit for owners who want medical care close by while their dog stays over.

What services does the resort offer?

The resort handles overnight stays for both dogs and cats. It also runs a daycare for dogs who need company and activity during the workday. Grooming is available on site, so a bath or trim can be scheduled around a stay.

• Dog and cat boarding in spacious private suites
• Doggy daycare
• Grooming services
• Daily exercise and enriching playtime
• Full-service veterinary care on site

What makes it different from a standard kennel?

The medical side is the main difference. Boarding guests stay at a facility with full-service veterinary care on site, which matters most for dogs with health conditions or older dogs who need watching. The team is Fear Free Certified, and the clinic describes its approach as calm, comfortable, and low-stress for every pet in its care.

Owners also receive regular updates with photos and videos during a stay. For anyone who tends to worry while traveling, that's a practical perk worth knowing about.

Practical details for owners

Dogs of every size are welcome, from small breeds up to giant ones. Weekday hours run from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Sunday hours are 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Sunday window is short, so it's worth planning around.
