Almost Heaven Canine Resort

Almost Heaven Canine Resort is a dog boarding and daycare facility at 10 Haven Drive in Augusta, WV, on a 5-acre rural farm. Owners looking for dog boarding in Augusta can book overnight stays or daytime care online. The kennel takes dogs of every size, from small breeds up to giant ones.

What is a stay like?

The building has 15 custom-designed interior kennels with climate control, plus private suites. Families with more than one dog can ask about the larger rooms set aside for dogs from the same household. Every kennel has a chew-proof Kuranda bed and stainless steel bowls.

Outside, there are several secure fenced-in play yards. There is also indoor play space for days when the weather doesn't cooperate. Enrichment puzzles and supervised playgroups help keep dogs busy and engaged.

Services and amenities

• Overnight boarding and dog daycare
• Grooming on site
• Medication administration and special diets
• 24/7 supervision
• Optional daily "Pupdate" photo updates

What makes it different?

The farm setting is the biggest draw. Dogs have open rural space and fenced yards, which suits active dogs well. The kennel's own site talks about treating guest dogs like family and giving them a comfortable place to stay close to home. Owners who worry while they're away can add the daily Pupdates to get photos of their dog during the stay.

Practical details

Boarding costs $40 per night, according to the kennel's website. Military members and first responders can get a discount.
